يتلقى الرحالة الإنجليزي (جوناثان جرين) أمرًا من (بيتير الأكبر) برسم خريطة الشرق الأقصى الروسي، ليجد نفسه مرة أخرى في رحلة مليئة بالمغامرات التي لا تصدق والتي في نهاية الأمر ستقودهم إلى الصين، وبشكل غير متوقع يجد رسام الخرائط الكثير من الاكتشافات المثيرة، كما يصادفه كائنات غريبة.
